Actor Arjun Rampal says that he and wife Mehr are striving hard to provide daughters Mahikaa and Myra a pressure-free childhood.

At a time when every parent is trying to make all rounders out of their children, Arjun Rampal is happy that he and wife Mehr  are not following the bandwagon. The star couple, who have two daughters — Mahikaa and Myra (aged 10 and 4 respectively), is happy that their daughters are getting a normal childhood free from pressure and tension.

“Every parent wants to see their children to do really well in life and so do we but not at the cost of their childhood. We don’t want to add extra pressure on them by telling them what is expected out of them and how they should lead their life and tell them which career to take up,” Arjun tells After Hrs. He adds, “Today’s children are very ambitious and they exactly know what they want to do with their lives and what they want to become. You can only guide them and not enforce your wishes on them. They will rebel. I want my daughters to have a normal childhood and enjoy the years of growing up. A free mind without stress can achieve far more than one with the pressure to excel.”

On the work front, Arjun is excited to play the role of Bheema in a Prakash Jha movie. “I waited for almost four years for Prakash to get back to me with the offer. I was excited from day one when Prakash briefed me about the film and I had readily given him the nod. But yes, the wait though long but a good one as the film has turned out to be exceptionally well. The vision and dedication with which Prakash has made the movie is commendable. The dedication I saw in him for his work was inspirational. I want to work with him till I don’t hang my boots as an actor,” he says.
