Comedy is possibly the hardest genre to master. Akshay Kumar agrees. The actor who has nailed it to the tee in all the comedy franchise films he's been a part of, met reporters ahead of the release of his latest film Housefull 3.
Off late, Akshay's films have been hard-hitting dramas- whether it's Baby, Gabbar or even Airlift. So a comedy seemed like a welcome respite for the actor as well. He tells us, "I feel very good. This is like a stress buster so I feel little relieved but at the same time it was very exhausting because while shooting, we were doing things in one take. If we cut between dialogues, people won’t laugh. It was more of give and take and that becomes exhausting. So to tell you honestly, there were a lot of retakes in the film. It was nice to come on the set of Housefull 3 because I haven’t done a comedy or cracked a joke since 2 years."
His good friend John Abraham has clearly admitted that he shies away from sex-comedies and is even averse to the idea of starring in one. But for Akshay, that isn't the case! Would he love to be a part of such films? "Yes, why not?" he immediately retorts. "No, I am not against it at all. I like it and I love to watch it also," Akki adds.
Recently, Riteish Deshmukh who's himself been part of sex-comedies like Masti series and the Kya Kool franchise commented that adult comedies have reached a saturation point in Bollywood. Akshay disagrees, "I don’t think there is a saturation point. You can do a lot of things you can still do in sex/adult comedies."
Guess, makers who are already planning another sex comedy know who to approach now!
