Salman Khan has managed to cement his place amongst the top reality show hosts in the country. With his seven season long stint on Bigg Boss, Salman has made himself an integral part of Indian television. Few, however, remember that the actor got his big break on TV as the host of the game show Dus Ka Dum. The show lasted for two highly successful seasons. But according to the rumour mill, it might be coming back for a lucky third!
Based on recent reports, Sony TV intends to restart the show and get it back on the air for a third season. Salman, the host of the original run, will be roped to come back as the host for the third season as well. Apparently, a final meeting will take place between the superstar and the channel in a few days to finalise on all the nitty-gritties of the show, which might go on the air in July. However, no official statement has come from the star or the channel as of now.
The first two seasons of Dus Ka Dum received a huge response during its run. The series debuted in 2008 and ended the next year and will be coming back on the air after a gap of eight years. The original run pulled in sky-high ratings and saw many Bollywood stars as guests, including Ranbir Kapoor, Rani Mukherji, Aamir Khan, Imran Khan, Akshay Kumar, Deepika Padukone, Katrina Kaif, Kangana Ranaut and Kareena Kapoor. The show could work well to help Sony regain its foothold on the ratings, after seeing a major dip due to the conflict between Kapil Sharma and Sunil Grover.
We hear that Sony has decided to pull plug on its flagship show The Kapil Sharma Show due to the dip in its ratings. The channel was supposed to renew Kapil's contract for another for a whopping Rs 107 crore. But good sense prevailed and they might not renew the show anymore. Instead, they might pipe in the same amount of money for the Salman show. Seems proper, what say?
Salman Khan is just coming off of his successful Da Bangg World Tour, and will now throw himself into promoting his upcoming Tubelight, with Zhu Zhu and Sohail Khan, which will release on June 23, 2017. Also, Salman is also currently working on the sequel to Ek Tha Tiger, Tiger Zinda Hai, with Katrina Kaif, which will hit theatres in December.
