Theatre personality and corporate trainer Sharon Prabhakar loves reading books that impact her life. “With stress an inevitable part of our lives, books are a source of wisdom,” says Sharon. She picks The Secret for its simplicity and straightforward approach to acquiring the best life has to offer.
In fact, the lady used to distribute the film’s DVDs to her friends. “The book explains that everything in the universe is governed by the law of attraction and we are all magnets attracting like-minded energies towards ourselves. So if you want the good things in life you must think positive and be positive so as to attract them towards you,” says the voracious reader adding, “once you imbibe this philosophy you will be in the pilot seat of your life.”
Sharon keeps a heap of books in her car which she pulls out when she wants to catch up on reading sans being disturbed! Howzzat for letting us in on her little ‘secret?’
Sharon considers Robert De Niro, Al Pacino, Dustin Hoffman and Sean Penn as awesome actors. So as a natural corollary, she picks Raging Bull as her all-time favourite movie. “The fact that Robert De Niro actually put on weight to realistically portray the aging boxer in the film was so amazing. His performance in each and every frame portrays him to be an incredible actor,” she gushes.
Her proclivity for drama, action and serious films makes her eschew comedy and romantic films as she “likes to get absorbed by a film.” Having first seen the movie in New York when she was in her late 20s, the second time in London with a bunch of roommates and a few years back with her daughter Shazahn — the movie isn’t just a great film but also holds a special significance for her.
