After unveiling quite an explosive teaser before the holidays began, makers of Disney Pixar's Cars 3 have now reveal details of the new characters which are being touted as the millennials Lightning McQueen has to compete against.
Meet Jackson Storm and Cruz Ramirez!
.
According to a report in Entertainment Weekly, Armie Hammer as joined the voice cast of the animated movie as tech savvy, villainous Jackson Storm.
According to director Brian Fee, they deliberately designed Jackson Storm to look faster and younger than McQueen. Fee describes Jackson as someone born with a silver spoon, everything comes easy to him, and everything about him says he is faster.
.
The other addition is Cruz Ramirez. Voiced by Cristela Alonzo, Cruz is a trainer and lifelong fan of Lightning McQueen. She is a product of Rust-eze Racing Centre and follows McQueen with starry eyes when he visits.
Age-wise, Cruz is Jackson Storm's generation but at heart, she is optimistic, sunny, fierce, and friendlier than him.
.
Then there is the hero of the franchise, Lightning McQueen!
Getting close to the age of Doc Hudson, McQueen (voiced by Owen Wilson) now has to compete with new age cars. Closing in on 40, McQueen will reconcile with the changing world but if we are to belive Fee, the franchise is far away from ending. "Where the franchise goes from here, I have no idea what may be down the road, but I can tell you that for Lightning McQueen, as a character, I think by the end of the movie it’s safe to say that this is only the beginning for him," Fee told Entertainment Weekly.
Cars 3 will hit the screens of June 16, 2017.
