Directed by Nelson Dilipkumar or simply Nelson, the action-comedy Jailer stars Rajinikanth as Muthuvel 'Tiger' Pandian, the retired jailer of Tihar Jail. The film is creating box office records as it has already crossed Rs 200 crore mark worldwide within three days of its release.
As per the entertainment tracking portal Sacnilk.com, the Rajinikanth film breached the Rs 100 crore mark at the domestic net box office earning Rs 108.40 crore. The gross domestic collection stands at Rs 127.10 crore after three days of its release. Jailer is doing phenomenal overseas also, as it has collected Rs 88 crore gross from outside India, taking the three-day total to Rs 215.10 crore at the global box office.
Apart from Rajinikanth, Jailer stars Vinayakan, Ramya Krishnan, Yogi Babu, Vasanth Ravi, Mirnaa Menon, and Sunil among others in pivotal roles. The Nelson directorial also features a pan-India star cast of Tamannaah Bhatia, Mohanlal, Jackie Shroff, and Shiva Rajkumar in cameo appearances.
The Rajinikanth-starrer action comedy had collected Rs 92 crore gross worldwide on its first day, becoming the third-highest opener of the year for all Indian films behind only Adipurush and Pathaan collecting Rs 126 crore and Rs 106 crore gross, respectively, on their opening days at the global box office.
To celebrate the success of Jailer, the superstar visited the holy site of Badrinath temple in Uttarakhand on Saturday, August 12. Rajinikanth, who arrived in Badrinath Dham, offered prayers to Lord Badri Vishal and also attended Lord Badri Vishal's evening aarti. He wore a blue shirt, trousers and completed his look with a traditional shawl and white sneakers. The 72-year-old actor waved at the crowds and also interacted with few of his fans. Videos from his spiritual visit have gone viral on social media.
