Jailer box office collection has crossed Rs 300 crore in just four days, the fastest for any Rajinikanth film in years.

There is no stopping Thalaivar and his stardom. Jailer, Rajinikanth’s latest release, has smashed box office records across India and even overseas to reassert the veteran actor’s numero uno spot in the Tamil film industry. The film has shown great hold over the extended weekend, crossing the 300-crore mark worldwide in just four days and becoming one of the highest-grossing Tamil films ever.

Sacnilk reported that Jailer earned Rs 42.20 crore in all languages in India on Sunday, which included Rs 34 crore in Tamil alone. This has taken its domestic net earnings over the four-day extended weekend to Rs 150.60 crore, the bulk of which has come from Tamil and Telugu.

Jailer has also done exceedingly well overseas, grossing over $16 million in the foreign markets. In some territories, the Rajini-starrer has even surpassed Pathaan in day-by-day collections and is only behind RRR in collections by Indian films post-pandemic. The film’s worldwide gross after just four days stands at a massive Rs 308 crore. This makes it the second-highest-grossing Tamil film of the year and it should easily cross Ponniyin Selvan 2 (Rs 350 crore) in the next couple of days itself.

The first Monday collections will determine just how long Jailer can sustain. But the film will get a boost on the Independence Day holiday as well. The film is looking poised to challenge some of Rajini’s highest-grossing movies ever and become one of Tamil cinema’s all-time grossers as well.

Jailer, directed by Nelson Dilipkumar, sees Rajinikanth in a comeback as the action star. The actor is in the titular role alongside a strong support cast featuring Vinayakan, Ramya Krishnan, Vasanth Ravi, Sunil, Mirnaa Menon, and Yogi Babu. In addition, big names like Mohanlal, Shiva Rajkumar, Jackie Shroff, Kishore, Tamannaah Bhatia, and Naga Babu make cameos in the film.
