Manjari Fadnis talks about the things she has fallen in love with: films, dancing and a boyfriend she’s ‘just dating’
g_prithwish@dnaindia.netManjari Fadnis, who sparkled as Imran Khan’s love interest in Jaane Tu… Ya Jaane Na, says she doesn’t want to venture beyond romantic comedies.
“I want to entertain as many people as I can as long till the time I continue acting. I thoroughly like romantic comedies and would mostly like to act in them. I’m very confident that I can easily do such roles,” Manjari says. She portrayed a die-hard romantic in Jaane Tu but is Manjari the same in real life?
“Oh yes, I’m a die-hard romantic. You can even call me a romantic fool. I love the idea of falling in love, being in love, sacrificing for love. Love is a must in my life without which I will be incomplete,” she says.
So is Manjari already is love?
“I’m still looking for love. I’m dating someone but as of now I don’t want to say anything more,” she adds.
But isn’t she limiting herself by saying that she mostly wants to do romantic comedies?
“Not at all. I told you what my preference is. That doesn’t mean that I will neglect the other genres and choose to opt out if I get such roles. I’m a newcomer in the industry and I know I have to prove myself in diverse genres to mark a mark. I will do any role that tempts me,” she says.
We caught Manjari moving quite well to the beats in Jaane Tu and we quizzed her whether she was a professional dancer.
“I love dancing. I’m a professional dancer and I’m currently with Shiamak Davar’s group. I’m dying to do a film that will involve a lot of dancing. If it’s a musical, then nothing like it. Unfortunately, in both my films Mumbai Salsa and Jaane Tu, I could not
dance my heart out,” she says.
