Upendra, Kiccha Sudeep, Shiva Rajkumar, and Shriya Saran-starrer gangster drama Kabzaa got released with huge anticipation. The film had a wide pan-India release in Kannada, Tamil, Telugu, Malayalam, and Hindi languages. However, the film opened up with mixed to negative reviews, and the first-day figures aren't impressive.
Despite unfavourable reviews, Kabzaa opened up with double-digit and collected Rs 10 crores on Friday. As per the data provided by Sacnilk, Kabzaa earned Rs 10.35 crores from all the languages. The report further decoded the data as per the languages, and Kabzaa's Kannada version collected the major chunk of the collection. The Kannada version earned Rs 8.20 crore, and Telugu collected Rs 1.20 crore. Kabzaa's Hindi version collected only 7 lakhs. The Tamil version was more than the Hindi, with Rs 15 lakhs. The Malayalam version collected only 1 lakh. As far as occupancy is concerned, Kabzaa Kannada version witnessed 47% occupancy on Friday.
Kabzaa had its shows premiering early morning on Friday and the audiences, who went to watch Kabzaa's first day-first show, seem to be disappointed. Many cine-goers on Twitter have shared that Kabzaa is a cheap copy of Yash and Prashanth Neel's blockbuster series KGF.
Speaking about the comparison between Kabzaa and KGF Chapter 1, Kabzaa earned 50% of the 2018 film. Yash-starrer KGF Chapter 1 earned 21.80 crores on day 1. Sharing a screenshot of the Kabzaa title card on the big screen, a Twitter user wrote, "Walkout feels. Watched KGF 1,2? you can AVOID #Kabzaa. Cheap version of KGF, same screenplay, same editing pattern. Not engaging at all. Bad dubbing and bad performance from Upendra. Sudeep just cameo, other actors, nothing great. 2/5 FINALLY, WATCH KGF AT HOME".
At the box office, Kabzaa has competition from Rani Mukerji's Mrs Chatterjee vs Norway, Kapil Sharma's Zwigato, and the Hollywood film Shazam! Fury of the Gods.
