Actor Kamal Haasan on Sunday announced that his next project, a bilingual thriller Thoongavanam (the jungle that never sleeps"), will to be produced by his Rajkamal Films and directed by his former assistant M Rajesh.
"We have a happy news to share with you. Rajkamal Films' next will be double version in Tamil and Telugu. We are going to inaugurate the shooting of this dual version in Hyderabad on May 24," Haasan, 60, said in a video message.
The announcement comes weeks after his last film Uttama Villain, which ran into controversy with VHP opposing it besides facing financial dispute, was released.
Noting that many titles for the new movie were on the rounds, Haasan said, "I am confined to choose one title only for this film and I hope that you will like it. Tamil title is Thoongavanam. It is a fast paced thriller".
On the film crew, he said, "The director is my erstwhile assistant M Rajesh, who is debuting as a director with this film. Sanu Varghese of Vishwaroopam fame is going to be wielding the camera, the editor will be Vijay Shankar and Gibran also will join hands to enhance the technical side of the film."
There is no word yet on the cast of the film.
