After Bombay Velvet, Karan Johar will be seen in Alia-Shahid's Shandaar

He might have turned down an offer from director Vikas Bahl to play Alia Bhatt's father in Shandaar, but Dharma Productions' head honcho Karan Johar is very much a part of the film.

The project has been in the news since being announced. Starring Shahid Kapoor opposite Alia, Karan was in talks to play his protegee's screen dad as everyone knows they share an amazing rapport off-screen. But sadly the Student Of The Year director rejected the role as he didn't want anyone to take a risk with him as an actor unless Bombay Velvet - his acting debut - released. Nevertheless, we can now reveal that KJo is doing a cameo in the film, courtesy Alia, who convinced Karan to play a small role in Vikas's film.

That's not all! Alia and her mentor have started shooting in London for Shandaar. Well, we are pretty sure the two must be having fun on the sets.
