Actress Kashmera Shah asserts that she is having the time of her life shooting for her new reality show Steal Ur Girlfriend that will go on air this Sunday. As a host of the show, Kashmera plays a cupid, helping guys confess their love for someone and also steal other’s girlfriends.
“I am playing a cupid, but an impish one,” quips Kashmera. “We are testing waters with this show and depending on the response, we might also have something like this for girls — steal your boyfriend. We have got a lot of querries from other places like Udaipur, Jaipur, Chandigarh — which we might travel to after we’re done with the Mumbai shoot,” she shares.
So how does she go about helping a helpless guy? “I suggest them on how to sweep the girl off her feet. I am constantly following the guy in my van and have my headphones on wherein I can hear the whole conversation he has with the girl and keep telling him what to do when,” she says.
Kashmera, who is excited about the show is thrilled to play the love guru. “How can men be so dumb!,” she exclaims. “Really, boys are so stupid. Sometimes it frustrates me so much,” she adds, describing her experience. However, the best part about the show, she says, is that it’s not scripted. “This reality show is actually real. I pour out advice from my own mind and what my gut feeling suggests… it’s just total fun. In fact, this is more fun than any film I’ve ever done,” Kashmera confesses.
Fondly recollecting the shoot for the first episode, Kashmera calls it sheer madness. “I was helping this guy who had called the girl to meet up in the mall. I was on the second floor with my camera crew and watching the scene while hiding myself from the girl’s eye. I kept yelling over the phone, telling the guy to go surprise the girl as he had planned already, but he just went numb! And it was so funny that I’m hiding behind the couch, squatting in high heels and there are people coming to me asking for autographs,” she laughs.
