Subhash Ghai has rubbished reports that a remake of his Khalnayak (1993), a thriller about a terrorist on the run, has found a producer in Sanjay Leela Bhansali.
Sources say that SLB, who just started shooting his ambitious Bajirao Mastani, has no time to pay attention to any other project.
So far, the remake rights of two Ghai blockbusters - Hero and Ram Lakhan - have been purchased by Salman Khan and Karan Johar, respectively.
While he welcomes the move to remake his film, he maintains, "I respect Sanjay Leela Bhansali as a unique filmmaker who has also proved himself as an independent producer with Rowdy Rathod and Mary Kom. But I have not made up my mind about selling the remake rights of Khalnayak. Let's wait and see."
Ghai says he is not opposed to the idea of remaking his films. "My door is open for all serious-minded filmmakers. And if destiny wills it, more of my films would be re-made."
