After years of making documentary films, Kabir Khan launched into commercial films and now he has some of the biggest hits in recent times, to his credit.
His films are a mixture of realistic yet commercial cinema. So what’s his secret?
Kabir says, “I keep watching films all the time so it’s very tough to make a choice but if you want to know which film has made a big impact on me,, at a certain age, I would say The Killing Fields. I was very young when I watched it. It’s a true story and amazing story of human relationships treated larger than life against a political backdrop and I loved it. That zone has impacted me even in my filmmaking — so what I am trying to do, is put a real political context in my films against the story of human relationships, whether it’s a Bajrangi Bhaijaan or New York or Tubelight.”
