After the painful miscarriage that Kiran Rao went through recently, with Aamir Khan writing on his blog that "K and I need time to heal", DNA has learnt that the actor, after returning from their two-month hiatus, will be taking up the onus of supervising the post-production of his wife's first film Dhobi Ghaat.
Not only is Khan producing the film, but he is also playing a pivotal character in it.
A source close to the development said, "Kiran and Aamir are shattered after their traumatic experience. Kiran obviously cannot concentrate on work, neither can Aamir. They are off for a trip and will only come back after two months.
"Once they are back, Aamir will be taking on the mantle of editing Kiran's film. Aamir doesn't want Kiran to go through any stress and though Kiran might be there during post-production, Aamir will do the bulk of the work."
Aamir had written on his blog: 'I have bad news folks. Kiran and I lost our baby. Despite our best efforts we were unable to avert a miscarriage. The last 2 months have been a struggle for us and that is one of the reasons I was absent from the blog in more ways than one. K and I need time to heal. I will be away for a while.'
Khan has two children — son Junaid and daughter Ira — from his previous marriage to Reena Dutta. Khan married Rao in December 2005.
The informer added, “We don't know when the film will release, but in these circumstances, the industry is behind him. Post-production is quite a daunting task and Aamir doesn't want Kiran to do it all by herself. He doesn't want Kiran to stay in recording rooms alone for hours cutting the film and giving it the final touches. Aamir will be there beside her like a pillar of support every second."
Since Khan and his wife are out of the city, they remained unavailable for comment.
