Not the one to be bogged down by the lukewarm response his ambitious and most recent project Shiva received at the box office, director Om Prakash Rao is all set to start work on yet another big budget film.
The flick is sure to generate a hype given the fact that he is calling the film Huccha. Om had used the same title for a film that not only raked in the moolah at the BO a decade ago, but also shot actor Sudeep to fame. Is this Huchcha also going to be a remake like the previous one?
“I do not wish to reveal anything about the story except for the fact that it is being penned by director Guruprasad. He is even writing the dialogues,” he says. But why the same title we probe and he says, “I could not think of a better title to justify the story I have in mind. And I also felt it would help in generating curiosity around the film,” he says.
And what about the star cast? “ I have zeroed in on Dhananjaya as the hero of Guruprasad’s Director’s Special. I saw a scene from that film and that was good enough for me to cast the newcomer.
He not only looks great on screen but is also a phenomenal performer. I have heard a lot about his commitment and passion for acting too and am looking forward to shooting with him.
As for the female lead, I am considering Lakshmi Menon, who was last seen in Sundarapandian. Ravishankar will also play a pivotal role in the film,” he says.
Anoop Silin is likely to score the music. While this film will go on floors on November 22, his other project Dakota Family will be launched on October 24. The comedy film will see Rockline Venkatesh and him playing the lead roles.
So with two projects to look forward to, has the director put the disappointment that Shivarajkumar starrer Shiva was, behind him? “There is no point talking about that film now. I take complete blame for the result,” he concludes.
