Four music aficionados — two pairs of brothers and sisters who happened to have attended the same school, came together as a group in 2002, hence giving birth to The Magic Numbers. And within eight years they have taken the music charts by storm.
With Romeo Stodart on the guitar and vocals, his sister Michelle Stodart on keyboards, Sean Gannon on drums and his sister Angela Gannon on vocals and percussion, this foursome seem adept at creating magic.
“We are like this group of friends and thoroughly enjoy ourselves on the stage; I believe that is reflected in our songs as well,” she explains.
The Magic Numbers, who released its first eponymous album in 2005, will be performing live this Sunday in Pune at the NH 7 Weekender — a three-day long musical extravaganza, with over 50 artists from India and abroad as a part of it. It also happens to be the biggest Indie music festival in India.
“We have no idea what to expect and we haven’t really planned anything about the performance either — it’s going to be a new place and a different audience,” enthuses Angela.
There is more they are looking forward to. “I would love to try Indian food and some Bollywood music maybe,” smiles Angela, adding that some kind of collaboration with Indian music or artists would be great.
