Malayalam actor Tovino Thomas was rushed to a hospital after he suffered severe injuries while shooting for his upcoming film 'Kala' and later complained of unbearable pain.

According to a report in Times of India, the 'Forensic' actor has been kept under observation in the intensive care unit (ICU) in a private hospital in Ernakulam, Kerala.

“We were filming in Piravom. The movie mostly has action sequences. Tovino Thomas got the injury 3-4 days back at his belly area. Today morning we shifted him to the hospital after developing an unbearable pain,” the actor's manager was quoted telling TOI.

The actor reportedly suffered internal injuries due to which he experienced severe stomach pain. As per reports, the actor has sustained an injury in his lungs and stomach and is under constant monitoring. Consequently, upon the doctor's advice, Thomas has been kept under observation at the Intensive Care Unit of the hospital.

Upon hearing about Thomas's health condition, several of the actor's fans took to social media to wish him a speedy recovery and pray for his better health.

Helmed by Rohit VS, the film, an adventurous thriller, will reportedly explore the relationship between a man and an animal. Besides Thomas, actors Lal, Divya Pillai and Sumesh Moor are also part of the upcoming project. 

The announcement of the project was made earlier this year, on July 10. Along with the title, the makers also unveiled the first-look poster.
