Mallika Sherawat: Need new haters, the old ones are beginning to like me
In an interview, Mallika Sherawat quotes that she finds Indian society very regressive when the status of women in it is considered.
In an interview with Variety Studio,Cannes Edition at the Cannes Film Festival this year, Mallika Sherawat stated that she found India "a very regressive and depressing nation when the state of women is concerned".
This was followed by a lot of blows from actresses Priyanka Chopra and Sherlyn Chopra who, obviously, got "offended" by the remark, PC even saying that she thought it was an "unfair one".
But it doesn't stop there, the Twitterverse is out to bash Mallika too with their tweets and the actress took a defensive stance too.
This is how the interview went:
This is what Mallika tweeted-:
I said Whats happening to women in India is regressive and depressing and I stand by it # RAPE

Here's how the public reacted to Mallika's comment:

— Parth S Mukherjee (@parthsm) May 28, 2013
Dear Mallika Sherawat, Please don't come back to a regressive country. Keep your funny accent, facts and thoughts where it can be tolerated.

I too think India is a regressive country with religious, lingual, regional, caste based, colour based etc. biased country #MallikaSherawat

Not a fan, but completely agree with Mallika Sherawat that India is "regressive" when it comes to treatment of women in this country.

So looks like her personal opinion has snowballed into a major issue with everyone weighing in on her comments. We wonder what's was the idea behind the "need new haters" tweet. What next, Mallika?
