Mammootty's 'get well soon' tweet for 'Thalapathi' co-star Rajinikanth wins hearts

Mammootty addressed Rajinikanth as 'Surya' his character name from Mani Ratnam's 'Thalapthi'.

People across the country wished for Rajinikanth's speedy recovery after he was rushed to the hospital in Hyderabad. The South star was admitted to a corporate hospital on Friday with severe fluctuations in blood pressure. Many of his contemporaries and colleagues took to their social media pages to wish him well and prayed for his recovery. Among them was Malayalam megastar Mammootty who covered with Rajinikanth in Thalapathi back in 1991.

Mammootty addressed Rajini as Surya his character from the Mani Ratnam film. The tweet read as "Get well soon Soorya. Anpudan Deva."

Even Kamal Haasan tweeted for Rajinikanth on his Twitter page in Tamil. The tweet can be roughly translated as "Congratulations on getting well soon, friend @rajinikanth."

Meanwhile, as per ANI, nothing is alarming in Rajinikanth's medical reports, Apollo Hospital said on Sunday.

"Rajinikanth is stable now and nothing is alarming in the medical reports that have come in. Doctors will evaluate him during Sunday afternoon before taking a decision regarding his discharge from the hospital.," Apollo Hospital added.

Earlier on Saturday, the hospital had also updated about the actor's health and said he is "progressing well" and his condition was "better control". Based on further evaluation the doctors will decide on Sunday whether or not to discharge the 70-year-old actor.

The Kabali actor had been shooting for Annaatthe in Hyderabad for the last few days. The shoot had to be halted after some crew members tested positive for COVID-19. While the superstar tested negative, a couple of other people from the set had tested positive, following which he isolated himself and was being monitored closely.
