Manasi Scott to take stage for abuse against women
The emotional piece, says Manasi, will create awareness about how girls are treated even today.
Singer/actress Manasi Scott will be making a guest appearance today in a special production of The Vagina Monologues in Hindi, along with Chitrangda Singh and Suchitra Pillai.
Manasi says, “There is a common perception that it’s a feminist play but it’s more about creating awareness of equal rights for women.” She will be reading a piece titled Dear Ma, written from the perspective of a 15-year-old girl that talks about child marriage and girls being bartered in villages."
The emotional piece, says Manasi, will create awareness about how girls are treated even today. She will also sing an original song on domestic abuse as well as do a duet with Suchitra. “Nothing can condone violence or abuse in any form to any gender,” adds Manasi.
