The hero of ‘Lost-Season 2’ talks about his idol
How are you handling the fame that ‘Lost’ (Star Movies) has brought you?
Everything around you changes. But I’m still the same person and I still care about the same things.
What’s your method of bringing Charlie to life?
I’m trying to play Charlie as a bad-good guy. He’s someone who is good at heart, but is at the crossroads in his life. His relationships with his family, his music and his faith have all gone off the rails. He is a little lost.
There seem to be scary animals creeping in and out of the show. Do you have any animals of your own?
I did have a black widow spider — unfortunately she died. The toxins in it are about 10 to 15 times more powerful than in a rattlesnake. We couldn’t have dogs and cats as kids as my brother was allergic to fur. So we had snakes and lizards instead. I’ve kept cockroaches and scorpions too. In Hawaii I have a couple of chameleons and a centipede.
Are you and co-star Evangeline Lilly(Kate) more than just friends?
Why does anyone care? I’m happy to talk about my work but I like to pull the curtains on my private life.
If you were asked to nominate your greatest hero, who would you choose?
John Lennon! I place him higher than a hero — perhaps on the same plane as Buddha, Krishna and Christ.
