Superstar's Rajinikanth's film Jailer hit the theatres on August 10 and while the film is doing well at the box office, Rajinikanth is celebrating it on a spiritual holiday to the Himalayas. Videos and photos of the superstar have gone viral on social media. Rajinikanth himself revealed that he was visiting the Himalayas after four years.
While Rajinikanth has never revealed the reasons for his visit to the Himalayas, it is a known fact that Thalaivar is a devotee of Mahavatar Babaji.
Who is Mahavtar Babaji?
Indian Yogi Yogiraj Lahiri Mahasaya and several other disciples gave their guru the name Mahavatar Babaji who reportedly appeared to them between 1861 and 1985. As per Yogananda's autobiography, Mahavatar Babaji has resided for at least hundreds of years in the remote Himalayan regions of India, seen in person by only a small number of disciples and others.
He performs a special kind of yoga known as 'Kriya Yoga' and roams around in the Himalayas. It is believed that Mahavatar Babaji is beyond death and is dubbed a "deathless guru".
It is said that whoever comes to be a follower of Mahavtar Babaji comes only through word of mouth and the only other documentation available is Paramahansa Yognandas' Autobiography of a Yogi.
As for Rajinikanth's Jailer, the film is wreaking havoc at the box office on its first day. After Jailer, Rajinikanth will be seen in an extended cameo in director Aishwaryaa's Lal Salaam. The film will release in theatres soon.
Rajinikanth has also announced a film with director TJ Gnanavel of Jai Bhim fame.
