Yesteryear actress Sadhana passed away on Friday morning at Hinduja hospital in Mumbai. She was 74 years old. Sadhana was reportedly suffering from a tumour. The cremation will take place on Saturday from her Santacruz residence, reports Bollywoodlife.com
Sadhana was known for the blockbusters like Mera Saya and Waqt. She was nominated for the Filmfare Award for Best Actress for Woh Kaun Thi in 1964.
Movies like Woh Kaun Thi, Mera Saya and Anita gave her the title of 'Mystery Girl'. She started in Bollywood at the age of 15 with a Sindhi movie Abaana. Prior to that, she did a cameo in Raj Kapoor's Shree 420. Sadhana was one of the fashion icons of India in the 60's. Her fringe hairstyle became a fan-favourite and hence was called 'Sadhana Cut' With the help of fashion designer Bhanu Athaiya, she started the trend of tight churidar kurtas, first featured in Yash Chopra's Waqt.
Sadhana married director Ram Krishan Nayyar on March 7, 1966. They were married for almost thirty years when the Love in Simla director died in 1995. Sadhana retired from movies after 1974 movie Geeta Mera Naam.
