Singer Robbie Williams says modern pop stars lack the aura and antics of real rock 'n' roll stars like in the 1990s.

Singer Robbie Williams says modern pop stars lack the aura and antics of real rock 'n' roll stars like in the 1990s.

The 43-year-old musician said the '90s stars were a "different breed" all together and new singers can not match them, reported FemaleFirst.

"We were a different breed back then (in the '90s) - cussing and dissing and needing to say things in order to be interesting. It was expected of everybody to be drunk and off their face on cocaine. People don't do that now," Williams said.

The "Feel" singer, who is sober and does not do drugs anymore, added he had often put himself in trouble through his controversial statements.

Williams further said, "I do have limited creative skills and I find myself saying things that, on later inspection, I probably wouldn't have said. I'm just trying to be funny all the time."
