It’s been over two weeks since the launch party of Queenie Dhody’s magazine but society circles are still abuzz with talk of the showdown that took place between fashionista Kalyani Chawla and jewellery designer Farah Khan that night.
Farah and Kalyani got into a heated argument, which ended up with both throwing wine at each other. Farah has accused Kalyani of getting too close to her best friend’s husband.
“Yes, I did throw wine at her and we also got into an argument. I am very protective of my friends and family. I’m upset that Kalyani had an affair with a friend’s husband, especially when that friend is someone who stood by her during her own divorce (from Vishal Chawla of Ravissant),” says Farah indignantly.
Farah says she feels no guilt over the incident. “I had a damn good reason for behaving in that manner and I don’t regret it at all. Besides, Kalyani herself vindicated me when she later said ‘I wish I had a good friend like you’,” says the firebrand.
Kalyani, who is the Indian representative for Dior, is in Paris at the moment. When contacted, she said, “This has become really ridiculous. No comment.”
