Music fraternity remembers singing legend Reshma

Known for her trademark rustic voice, the Lambi Judai hitmaker passed away in Lahore after suffering from throat cancer.

Indian and Pakistani music industry on Sunday mourned the demise of legendary singer Reshma, describing her as a "voice of passion" and "an inspiration to many".

"Tragic. RIP Reshma," Bollywood music composer Vishal Dadlani wrote on Twitter.

Singer Harshdeep Kaur posted, "Reshma ji no more... Can't believe this. Have grown up singing her songs. My inspiration. You will always be alive in our hearts."

Pakistani band Junoon's former guitarist Salman Ahmad tweeted, "A voice of passion not of this earth (RIP) 'Hayo Rabba'".

Some of Reshma's famous numbers include 'Hai O Rabba nahion lagda dil mera', 'Laal Meri' and 'Ankhiyan no rehen de ankhyan de kol kol'.

Bollywood filmmaker-producer Anubhav Sinha remembered the singer for her hit 'Lambi Judai'.

"RIP Reshma. You were a gift to us. Lambi Judai," Anubhav Sinha.

Actor Kabir Bedi shared the link of her performance to the popular song and wrote, "In memory of the legendary Reshma, a live performance of her. Unforgettable 'Lambi judaai'."
