Kanchi Singh started as a child artist in serials like Kutumb, Kasam Se, Kahin Toh Hoga and was last seen in Sasural Simar Ka, as Cherry, the hero’s younger sister. But one look at the girl who had gone to audition for a small role in the upcoming show Aur Pyaar Ho Gaya, and producer Rajan Shahi decided she was apt to be the heroine of his love story. “I was shocked, I couldn’t believe it, when I was told I will be playing the lead,” says Kanchi adding that her character is like Dilwale Dulhaniya Le Jayenge’s Simran (Kajol).
“Avani (the character she plays) is a college student, full of life, energetic and joyful. She is also curious about romance and likes the idea of being in love. At the same time she is devoted to her family,” says Kanchi who relates to the character completely. “Like every girl I also dream of finding a guy who loves her a lot,” smiles the newbie. Since the promos have begun airing on Zee, the pretty girl has been getting a good response. “People are liking me and my dressing style. I will be wearing ethnic dresses with jackets and pom poms in my dupatta,” she gushes.
