Post the 22-year leap in Qubool Hai, Karanvir Bohra will be entering the serial as Aahil Raza Ibrahim. Edgy, volatile and insensitive, Aahil will be the romantic interest of Sanam played by Surbhi Jyoti. Says Karanvir, "It's a James Dean kind of a role, which women love to see." He adds his relationship with Sanam will be like that of Tom & Jerry who are always fighting. "There will be a crackling chemistry between us," he says confidently. For his role, the actor has been rigorously working out to get a lean, mean look.
"There will be a lot of body shots and it's being shot like a film," he grins. Also, his character is that of a biker, for which Karanvir has lent his own Harely Davidson for the shoot. "I love bikes, which is why I volunteered to give my bike as I am very comfortable with it," says Karanvir who will be back to fiction after a year. The last show he did was Saubhagyavati Bhawa in which he played a dark character. "I like experimenting with my roles. In Qubool Hai, I will be a romantic hero, but there will be shades of grey to him," he says.
Qubool Hai, which has been dogged by controversies since Karan Singh Grover was ousted will see a complete transformation with the leap. While Raqesh Vashisth and Mohit Sehgal have quit the show, Surbhi who played Zoya will continue as her daughter Sanam. Both Asad and Zoya will be killed by Tanveer (Amrapali Gupta). Dilshad (Shalini Kappor), Asad's mother will save their daughter Sanam who will grow up to be quite a spitfire.
