While a majority of the young crop of talent in Bollywood is too busy focusing on their career, their looks and making loads of moolah, there are also some, who take efforts to give back to the society, especially the needy. One such example is of actress Nargis Fakhri. Though Nargis is always in the news for her movies, songs and her off-screen alleged link ups, now she has another reason. This one being that of a noble nature. The 34 year-old has taken up the cause for flood affected victims in Jammu and Kashmir. She's got herself to help raise funds and survival kits for them.
"I want to help in a larger way and use my voice to help mobilize more people and thus decided to initiate a month long online fundraiser with Ketto, as a run up to my birthday, and have people's donations sponsor survival kits for people and families in Kashmir. We end up spending so much on ourselves on occasions like birthdays which don't really help change anyone's lives. I'm actually glad that I'm able to use the occasion of my birthday to ensure that my fans and I truly help make a difference to those in need," Nargis was quoted as saying to the media.
The actress has a Kashmir connection - she played the role of a Kashmiri in her debut movie Rockstar, which has shot in the picturesque locations of Srinagar, Kupwara and Kulgam.
