Renowned Pakistani ghazal singer Ghulam Ali will perform in Kolkata on January 12. The event will be held at Park Circus Maidan and the singer will be accompanied by his son.
"We are very happy to announce that Ghulam Ali ji will perform on January 12. We are looking forward to it. With music, there shouldn't be any controversy as music knows no barriers," Trinamool Congress (TMC) national spokesperson Derek O Brien told ANI.
In 2015, his performances in Mumbai and Pune were cancelled after Shiv Sena's threats. Following the cancellation, Delhi minister Kapil Mishra and West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee invited the singer to perform in the national capital and Kolkata respectively.
