PANAJI: Noted playback singer Hema Sardesai, has said the success of 'Chak de India' is a booster not only for hockey but other games and our lives overall.

"Such movies prove that patriotism and hard work wins," Sardesai said.

The singer who has lent her voice to the song 'Badal Pe Paon Hai' from the Shahrukh starrer hit movie, expressed hope that post-Chak de, people who resort to making vulgar and obscene movies would learn a lesson.

"The song is a big hit and schools and colleges are asking whether they can use it as their school or college anthem," she said in reply to a question.

When asked if she was a hockey fan the singer said, "My husband played hockey at Nehru cup level and my father had been cricket captain in Goa. So both the games are very close to me."

"The truth is I am watching only when India is winning which is not really a fair thing to do," she said.

Sardesai has dedicated her new album 'Jhoom' to spiritual guru Sri Sri Ravi Shankar.

"The video 'Power of life', is focused on Save the Girl child issue and entire earnings from the album will go towards the cause", she added.
