Celebrated Indian classical vocalist Pandit Jasraj passed away in the US on Monday. He was 90 years old.
He breathed his last in US city of New Jersey. According to reports, he died due to cardiac arrest.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi expressed his condolences on the demise of the noted musician.
"The unfortunate demise of Pandit Jasraj Ji leaves a deep void in the Indian cultural sphere. Not only were his renditions outstanding, he also made a mark as an exceptional mentor to several other vocalists. Condolences to his family and admirers worldwide. Om Shanti," Modi said in a tweet.

Spanning a career of more than 80 years, the Indian classical vocalist belonging to 'Mewati Gharana', won many accolades including Sumitra Charat Ram Award for Lifetime Achievement, Marwar Sangeet Ratna Award for his classical and semi-classical performances.
