NEW DELHI: In the age of musical reality shows, Hindi movie channel Filmy is set to launch "Bathroom Singer" to hunt for an untrained singer who can capture the hearts of millions through a combination of singing and entertainment quotient.
"'Bathroom Singer' is a reality show for the common man. We are looking for a unique combination of voice and entertainment 'jhaag', not a youth icon but a star of the masses," said Shailesh Kapoor, content and marketing head of Filmy.
The auditions for the show will be open to people of all ages and will be held in four cities -- Ahemadabad, Delhi, Kolkata and Mumbai.
A spokesperson for the channel said contestants would be judged by celebrities like singer Shibani Kashyap and actor Ravi Kishan along with voting by viewers. The winner will walk away with a cash prize of Rs 25 lakh.
"After 'Big Boss', nothing excited me to appear on television. But the human connect of this reality show is unbeatable, which is why I couldn't say no to it," Ravi Kishan told.
TV actor Gaurav Gera, who confesses to be a talented bathroom singer, will host the show.
