Nushrat Bharucha may have teamed up with director Luv Ranjan on four films but she believes she was never in her “comfort zone” while working on them.
The 33-year-old actor says that her roles in all the four movies — Pyaar Ka Punchnama, Akaash Vani, Pyaar Ka Punchnama 2 and Sonu Ke Titu Ki Sweety — were risky as no actor wishes to play the “anti-hero” in the early stages of their career.
“It is not the team that creates the comfort zone, but the kind of films that you do. None of my roles have been alike. For me, the choice of roles in all my projects, even if it’s the same team, has been a risk. Nobody wants to play the anti-hero,” Nushrat told PTI.
She, however, does admit that she enjoys working with the same bunch. “We are like a family and have shared our highs and lows with each other. And then having such a big hit (Sonu Ke Titu Ki Sweety) with the same team is like redemption. The success is sweeter,” she added.
Nushrat feels that it’s the depth of her character that’s important while taking on a part. “An actor shouldn’t define what genre he/she wants to do. As an audience member, I want to see a different story and character each time. I will lose objectivity if I start categorising them,” she said.
