This is Leonardo DiCaprio's year. The real reason he has never won an Oscar before is not because he was snubbed but because the other nominees were better than him in that particular year.
This year he has no competition. Bryan Cranston's portrayal of Dalton Trumbo comes a close second but Leo is already at the finish line whereas Cranston is just a few paces past the starting line, The rest need not even bother tying their shoes.
Nominees Matt Damon and Eddie Redmayne have already said out loud what you can sense in the air.
I am not going to bother writing an essay on how the others did. Because we already know the winner. Is there a point in comparing performances?
A little warning to the viewers. Keep your tissues ready because Leo will try to fit all these years of hard work, the pain of waiting, and emotions of finally winning in 45 seconds. (Never mind the digital 'Thank You' scroll the Academy is going to be providing).
I see your box of tissues and I raise you a tear hydrant!
