Pop singer Prince to get lifetime BET Award

The 52-year-old singer has sung famous songs like 'Purple Rain' and 'Raspberry Beret'.

American singer Prince will be honoured with the lifetime Black Entertainment TV (BET) Award at a function in June 2010.

“Prince is dynamic. Prince is genius. Prince is music,” BET president of programming, Stephen G Hill said.

The BET awards are celebrating their 10th anniversary in Los Angeles on 27 June. Queen Latifah will host this year’s show, reports The BBC.

Prince has produced 10 platinum albums and 30 Top 40 singles during his career.
