After her foray into regional cinema (Bhojpuri, Marathi, Punjabi, Sikkimese, Konkani) under her production banner Purple Pebble Pictures, Priyanka Chopra will now produce two Bengali films.
Titles registered
She and her mother Dr Madhu Chopra have registered two titles — Brishtir Oppekhyayy (Waiting For The Rains) and Bus Stop E Keu Nei (No One Is At The Bus Stop).
The films will feature local actors and a couple of Bollywood actors of Bengali origin. It remains to be seen if PC will do a cameo in one of the films.
Madhu says, “PPP has always been at the forefront of promoting regional films. Being a producer, Priyanka wanted good stories to reach audiences, especially films depicting local culture and ethnicity for global viewership. The details for the Bengali film are being finalised and the movie will go on floors soon.”
Bam Bam Bole Bol Raha Hai Kashi (Bhojpuri), Ventilator (Marathi) and Sarvann (Punjabi) have been released by the banner till now. They alhave Kay Re Rascala (Marathi) under-production.
