Director Anbu Rajashekar has filed a case in Thanjavur asking for the release of Vijay and Sridevi starrer Puli to be stayed. The film is due for release on October 1. Puli producer Shibu Thameens told dna that their attorney will look into the issue.
Said Shibu Thameens, "There are so many people who come to make movies by spending their hard-earned money. And elements like this put their hard work into jeopardy. Filing cases for no valid reason is something that must be condemned. Heavy investments are made in a film so as to make it worthy of the audience's appreciation and applause."
The producer added that people who are looking for publicity are the ones who file cases arbitrarily against films in court. Thameens said, "We will definitely take appropriate legal action against the case filed against Puli."
In recent times, many cases have been filed against films in the Tamil film industry. Some of them have turned out to be frivolous.
