Actor Purab Kohli’s recently released Fatso has got him a lot of love and appreciation from friends and fans alike. The actor, who is back on screen after a long time says it wasn’t a self imposed hiatus but that he has only been taking up work that excites him.
“Initially, when I shifted from TV to films, I was very sure that I wanted to concentrate on films. But now, I have realised that work is work, irrespective of the medium. I am going to take up whatever good work comes my way and treat it like a project. Medium’s no bar for me”, says Purab.
About Fatso getting good responses from everyone, Purab says he was confident about that. “It is a simple film about five friends interspersed with a love story. Rajat (Kapoor - director) is very good with handling relationships,” he says. While he does get nervous before a film’s release, he says there isn’t much one can do to change the outcome. “You can just do your job and then just hope your film does well. I am proud of the film,” says Purab.
Besides Fatso, there are a couple of films in the pipeline, but they are in the planning stages. “I was growing my hair a bit to experiment for a role but it is too soon to talk about it,” he confesses. What about the sequel to Rock On!! that has been in the news for a while? “Talks are going on and Farhan (Akhtar) and Ritesh (Sidhwani) want to do it but currently they are busy with other commitments. Abhishek Kapoor, the director too is busy but it will hopefully happen soon,” reveals Purab.
