After a brief lull, post ‘Yeh Meri Life Hai’, actor Raahil Azim is back with the show ‘Resham Dank’ (Star One). Based on the novel similarly titled by Aatish Kapadia, the show has been conceived by J D Majethia of Hats Off Productions.

While ‘Yeh Meri Life Hai’ had Raahil playing the villainous Ashmit Gujral, here he plays the lead role of Aditya Balraj, a business tycoon.

Raahil says, “I am the caretaker of a family of brothers and sisters. Mouli Ganguly plays my wife. Ours is a happy family. But there’s a change after my son Dev (played by child actor Yash Bhadrani) is born.” Incidentally, the cast also includes actors Sumeet
Raghavan and Apara Mehta.

Terming the show as a social thriller, he adds, “The hero of ‘Resham Dank’ is the script. It has been beautifully crafted by Aatish Kapadia It’s finite-with a proper start, middle and finish. This is an entertaining drama of unconditional love and sacrifice.”

The actor, who won much fame by playing Prince ‘Hatim’, owes his fame to the small-screen.

He says, “Girls call me from the US and talk about ‘Hatim’ as the show is being aired on Disney Channel.” But Raahil is keen to move on and says, “TV has given me fame and name.

After ‘Resham Dank’ I will consider films. I am interested in direction too.”

For someone who enjoys his share of female fans, Raahil is clear about the kind of woman he seeks. He says, “I want a simple girl- someone who is simple in thoughts and looks, someone who will love my parents and someone who can balance home with a life of her own.”

He sums, “Woman is the strongest thing that God has made. She’s subconsciously a man; she can make or break him.”
