Last seen as Heer in Rab Se Sohna Ishq, the bubbly and vivacious Mansi Srivastav has been cast as Shivani in Film Farm’s latest production for Zee TV, Do Dil Bandhe Ek Dori Se. Mansi, who has also done several ads will play the female lead opposite Arhaan Behl. Ask the actress about her role in the show and she says, “I got to know that I was selected after many other actors were auditioned, so I’m definitely feeling lucky and blessed.

The character of Shivani is like a princess in a fairytale. Pampered by her grandfather (played by Alok Nath), she has grown in the lap of luxury and has always been protected by her grandfather from the grim realities of life. Then one day, she gets caught up in circumstances that change her life forever.”

The acting bug had bitten Mansi right from childhood. “I loved acting and talking to myself in front of the mirror as a child. I used to mimic other people and entertain everybody around so it was natural for me to pursue acting as a career,” she says. As she grew up, she honed her skills with theatre groups like Rangsaptak, Ateliar Theatre and Pratibimb.

Alok Nath, synonymous with being a father figure in umpteen serials and films, will be seen playing a rich grandfather (Balwant Rana) to Mansi in the show. The actor says, “I play a doting grandfather to my grand-daughter Shivani who has lost her parents. And like every guardian, Balwant Rana’s only dream is to find an ideal groom for his grand daughter who’ll keep her happy life- long before he dies. It’s a beautiful story that will pull at your heartstrings.” The serial is slated to go on air soon.
