According to the latest buzz in Gandhinagara, Ram Gopal Varma may soon be making a foray into Sandalwood. Sources claim that actor Sudeep is keen on having Varma direct a yet-to-be titled film, produced by KCN Kumar which he has signed on. When asked to confirm the news, Kumar said,”I have left everything to Sudeep. If he feels Varma should direct this film, every attempt will be made to convince him to come on board. But nothing has been finalised yet. We are yet to zero in on the story and once this is done, we will think of approaching a director and finalise the rest of the cast and crew as well.” Speaking of cast, sources even say that Sudeep’s good friend, actor Darshan may also be a part of the cast.
Given that Sudeep is currently busy with the post production of his upcoming film Bachchan, a decision regarding this project will have to wait until January 1, 2013. As of now all we know for sure is that Sudeep is the star of this film that will be made in Kannada, Tamil, Telugu and Hindi simultaneously.
If the deal does come through, it will not be the first time that Sudeep and Varma will be working together. It was Varma who introduced Sudeep to Bollywood through Phoonk. The actor was also seen playing powerful roles in Varma’s Rann and Raktha Charitra. But as mentioned earlier it might take a while before Sudeep and Varma get together for their first Kannada venture. Currently the release of Varadanayaka is keeping Sudeep busy. The film will be his first release in 2013. He then has Bachchan to look forward to. There is also a film with director Prem that the duo are likely to announce on January 1, 2013. On his birthday, Sudeep had also announced his own directorial venture titled Chakravyuh. This film, also being produced by Kumar, will be released in three languages.
