Rani Mukerji's 'Mardaani' premieres in Poland to standing ovation

Bollywood actress Rani Mukerji's action-thriller 'Mardaani' premiered in Poland to a standing ovation from the audience. The 36-year-old actress, who plays a female cop fighting against child trafficking in the movie, attended the premiere at the Kino Muranow theatre in Warsaw yesterday, and was overwhelmed to see the response to the film.

Bollywood actress Rani Mukerji's action-thriller 'Mardaani' premiered in Poland to a standing ovation from the audience. The 36-year-old actress, who plays a female cop fighting against child trafficking in the movie, attended the premiere at the Kino Muranow theatre in Warsaw yesterday, and was overwhelmed to see the response to the film.

"It was a very special day. The response to the film by the Polish people made the evening even more special and it reiterates the fact that a good film finds an audience irrespective of the language in any part of the world. I will cherish forever the love and adulation I received today from Poland," Rani said in a statement.

'Mardaani' has been produced by Aditya Chopra and it released in India last year. Polish cinematographer Artur Zurawski, who has worked on the film, attended the premiere with his family. Rani's mother Krishna accompanied the actress at the event.

The Pradeep Sarkar-directed film, will hit theatres in Poland on February 5.
