When in character, Ranveer Singh is known to give a role his all, right down to the character’s traits. That’s something the unit members on the sets of Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s Padmavati have realised.
The actor plays Alauddin Khilji, a ruthless, unforgiving conqueror, in the film. And the commitment to his character is so fierce that once he’s all dressed up for the part, he becomes Khilji, through and through.
Singh’s spokesperson says, “Between shots, when the camera isn’t rolling, Ranveer is his usual enthu self but once he gets into his Khilji costume and make-up and is ready to shoot, most people who know his process, stay away from him. He actually slips into the skin of Khilji. That’s how intense things get!”
In fact, this dedication to his roles is on display in the actor and the filmmaker’s last outing together: Bajirao Mastani, where Ranveer played an ambitious, all-heart Maratha warrior.
