Remembering veteran Marathi actor Kuldeep Pawar

Kuldeep Pawar is known for his comic timings and negative roles. During the course of his career, he has acted in many Marathi as well as Hindi films.

Kuldeep Pawar was born on December 24, 1949. Ever since his childhood, he was interested in acting, and left Kolhapur for Mumbai. He had to try out a few places before like Pune and Karad, before he found his final destination. Until then, he had acted only in one film which was insufficient to get him work in Mumbai. However, during his visit, he met Prabhakar Panshikar a well known stage actor and the owner of a well-known Marathi drama production organization, Natyasampada. He convinced Prabhakar with his powerful voice and graceful personality, and thus bagged his role as Sambhaji.

Some of his popular Marathi plays include: Ithe Oshadla Mrityu (Sambhaji), Viz Mhanali Dhartil (Tatya Tope), Ashrunchi Zaale Fule (Shambhu Mahadev), Asaahi Ek Aurangzeb (Aurangzeb).

He also acted in some of the popular TV series like Paramveer, Tu Tu Mein mein, Sansaar, Aakrosh.
