The first season of ‘Kaun’ ended with a bang, quite literally with a close-range gunshot in the chest of detective Adi Bhagat. Although the season reached the finish line while Adi battled for his life, it turned out that the bullet was not the death knell for Adi (played by Sushant Singh). The audience was served with a cliffhanger and left wanting for more. Now, the wait is over, and Adi is back for more action in the second season of ‘Kaun’.

Produced by Sikhya Entertainment, the first episode of the fresh season of ‘Kaun’ premiered on Flipkart Video on May 22. It is an interactive show that successfully grabbed its audience with an enthralling script and an engaging storyline.

Detective Adi Bhagat was an ex-cop in the previous season and had a mentor-prodigy relationship with Inspector Malini (played by Samvedna Suwalka). Neither of them knew about the other’s past. Later, as the plot progressed, Commissioner Handa revealed Malini’s identity to Adi, digging up a bitter past that Adi had buried with remorse.

Malini sulked into gloom when she figured out that, decades ago, Adi was in her house the night her parents were assassinated. Malini could vividly recall Adi’s gun firing shots in the darkness and her parents falling dead on the ground. One thing led to another, and it did not take long for Malini to point her gun at Adi.

The first episode of the second season did not leave any loose end as it started from where the first season had ended. Adi is back and now working as a police consultant. However, his strained relationship with Malini has not improved. He confronts Malini and begs for her cooperation to solve the decade-old case.

Malini breaks down, trying to relive the night her parents died. Adi analyses everything that happened on that day. He reconstructed the scene and narrated how he followed a Pakistani spy into Malini's house. Adi couldn't apprehend the killer because Malini's parents were killed in the darkness. He arranges all the clues and realigns them with Malini's testimony. Subsequently, giving the audience a chance to determine the killer.

Overall, the first episode of the second season started the perfect dose of thrill and excitement, and it is rightly titled, ‘Blast from the past’. Viewers who correctly guessed the culprit or the killer at the end of this episode stood a chance to win SuperCoins or Flipkart Gift Vouchers. Further, one lucky viewer could have won a smartphone.
