Entertainment, entertainment, entertainment... that could well have been the tagline of this week’s yet another and most awaited Kannada film, Drama. Life is a stage and we mere actors —puppets rather—in the hands of God is what the film is out to say, in a fun way of course. Satish (Satish) and Venkatesh (Yash) are the happy-go-lucky sorts until Nandini (Radhika Pandit) enters their life. Venkatesh falls in love with her and just to win her over joins her college. From there on it’s a roller coaster ride for the three friends.
If ‘take things as they come’ is your life’s mantra, then you are sure to relate to this film. Full of witty dialogues and humourous scenes, this Yograj Bhat directorial is something that you will relate to instantly especially if you are a college goer. Performances by the lead cast add to the entertainment quotient.
Neenasam Satish and Suchendra Prasad in particular stand out. In fact this film helps Prasad shed his ‘serious’ image and he is a treat to watch. These two actors in fact make you ignore the slightly long duration of the film.
Yash and Radhika make for a cute on screen couple and liven up the screen with their effortless performances. Ambareesh plays a pivotal role which he does complete justice to. The film scores brownie points when it comes to music as well. Each of the songs have been written well and beautifully shot. That way Chendutiya... is surely one song that will stay with you for a long time to come. Krishna’s cinematography also does justice to the script.
This is one drama you would want to be a part of... but just make sure you don’t bunk your classes to do so as the film comes precisely with one such message.
