He's a qualified architect and had thought of a career as one, before his foray into films. But, as they say, it is not easy to forget one’s first love. Hence, Riteish Deshmukh is back to where he belongs – and so much so that he is looking to utilise his self-imposed one-month hiatus from acting on architectural pursuits. Like in the movies, in architectural projects too, there is no dearth of work.

To begin with, he’s designing an educational complex in New Mumbai, even as his two multiplexes in Latur and Aurangabad are under construction. Besides, he also has a couple of offers to pep up some farmhouses in Delhi. “I have been actively doing work as an architect right after college (Kamala Raheja Architectural College), but then my focus shifted to films and I got tied up with that. Even then, my love for architecture didn’t die,” he says.

That marked the birth of his architectural firm, Evolutions. “After my friends and me floated our own company, although I was busy with films I always gave my inputs. We would discuss ideas and then arrive at a consensus. It has been great team work,” he states.
