Singer Rod Steward is evidently trying to patch up with his lovechild Sarah Streeter, who was given up for adoption in the 1960s.
The star was just 17 years old when he fathered Streeter with his art student girlfriend Susannah Boffey, before their teenage romance came to an end.
Boffey struggled to raise the baby on her own and eventually decided she was too young to keep her.
Streeter met the Maggie May hitmaker a few of times in the 1980s but it wasn't until the death of her adopted mum, Evelyn Thubron, three years ago that Stewart began making regular contact.
Now the care-home worker says she is delighted to be welcomed into Stewart's family now that any sadness over their complicated relationship has been brushed aside.
"We did have quite a lot of contact at first in the middle-to-late 1980s. I even went to stay at his house in Epping," the Daily Express quoted Streeter as telling the Daily Mail.
"But then it fizzled out, on both our parts, really. I got on with my life and he got on with his," she said.
"Now I'm getting to know him more I think I understand what went on. Rod has actually come into my life in a big way since mother's gone, and I don't think that's a coincidence," Streeter added.
Streeter also said that she was never really angry whatever happened, but sad.
"But now I'm older I see things differently and realise that it has been as difficult for him over the years as it has been for me.
"Now we're at the start of a new chapter, and that's wonderful," she added.
